Playsuits, Baubles and Christmas Trees

Christmas is getting close and our house has definitely been full of Christmas music. What is your go-to Christmas album? In terms of Christmas music, I've always been a big fan of Mariah's classic album, but I also LOVE Michael Buble's, The Idea of North's, and Kelly Clarkson's Christmas albums. I hadn't listened to it before, but yesterday, as I was making this green playsuit, I gave Idina Menzel's Christmas album a go, and I really loved it! What else should I be listening to?

But anyways, I mentioned a PLAYSUIT. Yes. Yesterday I had some of this beautiful green material left over and it reminded me of Christmas trees! It is also really bright and summery (it's summer over here in the Southern hemisphere) so I thought, I've done a wintery, traditional Christmas shoot, it's time to do an Australian Christmas putting-up-the-Christmas-tree photoshoot!

I cranked up Idina Menzel's 'holiday wishes' and made this super-cute playsuit! It was really easy to make - I just got a strip of material (that could wrap around my waist very loosely) and a piece of elastic that could stretch around my waist. Then I stretched it along the whole length of the fabric and sewed them together, before making some shorts with a higher waist and sewing them to the elastic too. Finally, I added some strips of fabric as shoulder straps!

What do you think? I love my new playsuit because it's super comfy and easy and makes me feel really Christmassy :) But of course, putting up the Christmas tree is very exhausting!

More Christmas Cheer!

Yesterday I uploaded one of the digital Christmas cards that I made and here is another!!

Which one do you prefer? Today's or yesterday's?

Christmas is Coming!

Christmas is so soon I am SOO EXCITED!

I don't have much time and I have more posts coming soon, but today I had a photoshoot and we tried making for the first time digital christmas cards and I'm so happy how they turned out!

Here's one of them :)

For this shoot, I found some little baubles that my mum had bought and just stringed them on some twine - I had them hanging, but thought it looked nicer holding them.

I also tried using one of my furry skirts for a shawl and I'm so happy that it fit over my head! Now I know I have a classy way to keep warm!

You can't really see my bun very well but I love this hairstyle for formal events/photoshoots! Thanks to AG imagination for the sock bun tutorial!

And finally, I used www.picmonkey.com to add the border, snow, etc...

Do you like it? Would you like to see more?

Happy Christmas x

Neon Lights

Hi! This post is a little experiment... We had some fun with glow-sticks and experimenting with light. It was so much fun!

The collar is actually not a whole shirt, it is just a collar on a piece of fabric that sits over my shoulders to wear under things to giver the impression that I am wearing a blouse underneath- cool, right?!

Everything I am wearing was custom made for me, but the striped top is actually the overalls from AG Sea Breeze Outfit.

Bye!

Flared Skirts and Bows

So last weekend I was at spotlight, and I came across some pre-cut samples of really nice different fabrics. Of course, immediately I knew they would be perfect for my sized clothes, and I bought a selection. I'm hoping to make a christmas outfit soon, but last night I made a quick skirt out of one of the spotty materials as a practise/tester.

This morning, I was trying to see what went with the skirt, and I found these adorable shoes from AG's Rebecca's Movie Outfit! They inspired me to make a cute little vintage inspired ensemble.

My favourite bit of the whole outfit, of course is the cream bow. I love it so much, and it also matches the shoes perfectly!

I'm hoping to soon make a plainer top that will compliment the skirt more.

What is your favourite part of the ensemble??

Hot Days and Blue Bucket Hats

Today was a really hot day, so I decided to find and hat and sit and relax in the shade. My friend had recently made me this really comfy elephant top and I thought because it was so hot today that it was the perfect occasion to wear it! I also love wearing pigtails in plaits, especially under hats, and I was so excited when I realised how perfectly my hat matches my new top!

Do you like my lunch? I was reading a good book but I stopped reading to eat it. Look how cute my flower shaped sandwich is!

I'm so excited by my little container... It looks so cute as a milk container or just to drink out of or even to put flowers in! I just washed out an old bubble container and cut a straw to size... Easy!

... The trees are so pretty and green this time of the year!

... And then it got way to hot outside so I took my drink inside and sat at a window

What did you do this weekend?

Clothes/Accessories:

Shorts are from the AG Outdoor Play Outfit (retired); Shoes are from AG Springtime Sundress (also retired); Hat from AG Raincoat and Boots set; Lunchbox/food from AG Stackable Lunch Set; Book titled 'meet Rebecca' which came with the AG teaching set/book; And my friend made me the top.
